About Us

Our History

Big Creek Real Estate was founded by Matt Martin in 2019. After working for other real estate companies and different high-volume sales teams (both small and large) since 2006, we decided it was time to start our own company.

Why the Name big creek?

“I named the company after our local “Big Creek,” a great little fishing spot where my Grandad started his farm and logged timber back in the 30s. He also raised 12 children there.  The namesake is a nod to him in a “Big” way. I wouldn’t be where I’m at today if not for the sacrifices he and my Grandmother made.” -Matt Martin

We’re a small yet innovative real estate firm that takes a modern adaptable approach to marketing and our sales process. We pride ourselves on being able to provide specialized care that builds life-long friendships with our clients every day.

“As a golfer I’ve always been fascinated with unique landscapes and real estate. My idea for the name was a way to incorporate the respect I have for where I came from and my passion for the outdoors into the business. But then the connection between creeks, life and the real estate market as a whole became apparent. Just like the creeks and rivers, life and the real estate market is ever-changing with all the parts moving to its destination. And when everything comes together to help our clients reach their destination, it’s incredibly rewarding.”-Matt Martin

At Big Creek Real Estate, we’ve been in professional sales since 2006 and specializing in real estate since 2019. We’ve seen the market’s highs and lows, the 2008 recession, Covid and we’ve learned how to navigate through it all. With a combined 20 years of sales experience, we bring a wealth of knowledge to every deal.

proven Success

Our marketing strategy is all about precision.  We focus on getting the pricing right first, then we leverage our extensive investor network and pinpoint target marketing via social and print media. This ensures your property gets the attention it deserves.

One of the toughest sales we’ve managed was the old T&T Foods building in Rehobeth. It involved dealing with decommissioned underground gas tanks and navigating ADEM regulations. Plus, after the previous owner passed away, we had to track down and get heirship affidavits signed by 10 children spread across the country (some were willing to sign and some were not so much.) It took nearly a year, but we got it closed.

We build relationships by being ourselves and trying to add value to every interaction we have. When you’re genuine and helpful, you tend to make friends in most cases. At Big Creek, our small, close-knit, and family-oriented team means we can offer specialized care and attention to our clients.

The most rewarding part of our job is seeing our clients’ successful projects, knowing we played a small part in helping them achieve their goals. We’re very experienced in single-family listings and land sales. Plus, as a member of the town council in Madrid, AL, Matt is deeply invested in our community.
